The Cummer Museum of Art & Gardens Celebrates L'Espirit du Jardin with Ethan Allen
Jacksonville, Fla. - The Cummer Museum of Art & Gardens joins Ethan Allen Jacksonville Design Center to host an exclusive opening reception, L’Esprit du Jardin (The Spirit of the Garden), on Thursday, May 13, 2010, from 6 to 8 p.m. The Museum’s gardens are the inspiration for the Ethan Allen’s Design Direction 2010 entitled Design in Bloom. A month-long celebration begins with this event and features the latest trends in furniture and interior design.
“We are so grateful for the support of Ethan Allen and see the partnership between our organizations as an ideal model of how small business can truly make a difference for a non-profit and the people that we serve,” said Museum Director Hope McMath. “The concept created by the team at Ethan Allen promotes the power of partnership, the importance of the arts and the differences that can be made when we all come together for a common cause.”
The reception will feature five local and regional artists who will showcase their floral works of art, including botanical artists Ellen Diamond, Linda Broadfoot, Susan Ober, Sarah Crooks Flaire and photographer Freda Wilkins. Guests will enjoy meeting the artists, who will discuss their inspiring botanical perspectives, hors d’oeuvres, wine and music of the French countryside while previewing new furniture and decorating trends in two remodeled apartments within the Ethan Allen Jacksonville Design Center.
