Art Connections has at its core, a mission to bring the power of the arts and the joy of creation to all people. Our programs serve the entire community by opening new windows of understanding, creativity and inspiration for all – young and old, long-time museum enthusiasts and those just beginning to explore new ways to interact with the arts.
Studies show that students exposed to the arts achieve greater academic success, so Cummer educators work with schools and universities to integrate art and learning at every level, in every subject area. We help connect learning opportunities through our school tours, outreach and professional development training for teachers in a five-county area, with both in-person and online distance learning programs.
And because education extends beyond the classroom, Art Connections has programs for everyone. Thinking “outside the frame” allows the Cummer to find new ways to create interactive art experiences that everyone can enjoy—tactile drawings, verbal descriptions of works of art, creative problem solving, and hands-on art creation bring the arts to people of all abilities.
