Project Augusta Savage
Museum educators bring art and creativity to inner-city students in grades Pre-K through 8 at St. Pius and Holy Rosary Schools in a series of outreach classroom lessons and museum visits. Each year’s program culminates in a juried exhibition of student work at The Cummer.
Junior Docents
This program enables middle and high school students to learn about the collection through research, hands-on exploration and group discussion, and then share their knowledge with visitors through discussion and demonstration. These bright young adults also serve as one of The Cummer’s most important volunteer corps.
FAB Fest
Future Artists at the Beaches, elementary school students in Jacksonville Beach, Neptune Beach, Atlantic Beach and Ponte Vedra Beach, work with museum educators in outreach classroom lessons and museum visits to learn more about the visual arts. Each year’s program culminates in a juried exhibition of student work at The Cummer.
VSA Festival
Art Connections is committed to making the arts readily accessible to people with disabilities through a variety of programs and special events. One of the museum’s most important events, the VSA arts Festival, is an annual four-day celebration of art, held in the museum galleries, that brings hands-on experiences and the opportunity to view original works of art to children and adults with disabilities.
