School Tours

The Cummer Museum of Art & Gardens offers educational tours that allow for first-hand examination of original works of art. Trained docents engage students in meaningful discussions in the galleries and historic gardens, a hands-on art project and activities in Art Connections, the Museum's interactive center.

Tours are based on an integrated curriculum that supports state standards in the visual arts, math, science, language arts, and social studies. Curriculum packets are available below for teachers and other educators to use with their students before and after their Museum visit.

Tour Information
  • Tours are available Tuesdays through Fridays.
  • Tours are 90 minutes long. Tour times are from 9:45 to 11:15 a.m. or 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. If you require a tour time other than those listed please consult with the education staff.

  • Cost is $5.00 per student. One free chaperone is required for every 10 students. Additional chaperones are $5.00 each.

  • A $50 non-refundable deposit is required
  • Download your tour packet and prepare your students for their visit.

Our programs can easily be altered for groups with special needs. If students have special needs, please notify the education staff at the time of scheduling so that we may provide the best possible experience for your students.
