Animals in Art Grade One Mondays and Tuesdays
Students will examine the ways in which artists depict animals and their environments. The characteristics of animals will be explored through a discussion of shape, size, texture, pattern, and detail. The works of art to be explored include a Greek vase and a nineteenth-century painting of a hummingbird. A mask-making activity and garden scavenger hunt are part of this visit. This tour supports standards in the visual arts, social studies, and science.
