The Elements of Art
Grade Two
Tuesdays and Wednesdays
Students will explore the art elements of line, shape, pattern, and form in a variety of paintings and sculptures. Explorations include a search for patterns and shapes in an abstract painting, and a discovery of the characteristics of three-dimensional art objects. A new studio activity in bookmaking and collage are part of this visit. Interactive activities in Art Connections will provide an opportunity for extended learning. This tour supports standards in the visual arts, math, and social studies.
