2008 Ball & Auction:Ball & Auction | Ticket Information The Cummer Council is thrilled to announce the theme of this year's Ball and Auction: "The Majesty of Meissen." This magical evening will take place on Saturday, April 26, and will celebrate the Cummer's own collection of Meissen porcelain. This collection was donated to the Cummer in 1962 by Mr. Ralph Wark, and is widely considered to be the third finest in the world. Pieces date back to the early 1700s and several will make their public debut the night of the Ball. Decorations will incorporate the colors, detail, and delicacy of this elegant porcelain, and reflect the taste of Augustus the Strong, the investor behind the creation of Meissen. Schedule: Proceeds from the Ball will benefit the Acquisition Fund. The Ball Chairman, Sally Barnett, along with Vice Chairs Donna Beames, Jennifer Donahoo, and Kim Ramey hope to see you there!
