Clay Handbuilding Workshop with Glendia Cooper

Join us for a day of clay. Renowned ceramicist and teacher, Glendia Cooper, will guide a hand-building workshop in clay teaching handling, construction and glazing techniques. All levels of experience are welcome. Catered lunch included. All supplies included.

The Inside Story: Ernest Hemingway in Cuba

Lecture and Film Event

6:30PM - 8:30PM

Immerse yourself in the legacy of Ernest Hemingway with our esteemed guest and Hemingway scholar, Carlene Fredericka Brennen. Author of Hemingway’s Cats, co-author of Hemingway in Cuba and lead researcher for PBS’ award-winning documentary “Hemingway in Cuba”, Brennen will share the lesser-known stories of Ernest Hemmingway and his love affair with Cuba. Immediately following lecture, Brennen will host viewing of “Hemingway In Cuba” and will be available for book signing.

Digital Photography Workshop

Join Ginger Sheridan, Photography Professor from Jacksonville University, as she demonstrates the basics of photography: composition, color and technology. You can capture your visual voice behind the camera as she highlights unique advantages and recent advancements in digital photography. Bring your digital camera and your laptop (optional). Tour Ernest Hemingway and Walker Evans: Three Weeks in Cuba, 1933 for a glimpse of Cuban culture through the lens of Walker Evans.
