Job Qualifications:

The internship program is based on the following criteria and standards:

  • Four internships are available for the Fall and Spring semesters of each school year. Three internships are available for the summer term.
  • Applicants should be in their Junior or Senior year of college.
  • Applicants should have taken multiple Art History, Art Education, Horticulture, or Environmental Education classes and be interested in museum, gallery, public garden or environmental education work as a career or contemplating graduate work in the field.
  • Interns must be available to work a minimum of 12 hours per week during the academic year. Summer internships will require a minimum of 20 hours per week.
  • Education internships are unpaid. We are happy to help students receive credit for their internships.

Job Description:

Education interns will participate in all Education Department activities including: conducting school tours, assisting with art classes, research for docent lectures, garden work, object or plant research, preparation of teacher resource or outreach materials, and general department administration.

Interested students should send in writing to the Intern Supervisor:

  • A resumé including a list of Art History, Art, Museum Education, Horticulture or Environmental Education courses taken.

  • A cover letter expressing their areas of interest and career goals.
