Internship
Education Intern
Education interns will participate in all Education Department activities including: conducting school tours, assisting with art classes, research for docent lectures, audio-guide development, object research, preparation of teacher resource materials, and general department administration.
The internship program is based on the following criteria and standards:
- Four internships are available for the Fall and Spring semesters of each school year. Up to 3 internships are available for the summer term.
- Applicants should be in their Junior or Senior year of college.
- Applicants should have taken multiple Art History classes and be interested in museum or gallery work as a career or contemplating graduate work in the field.
- Interns must be available to work a minimum of two 4-hour shifts or one 8-hour shift per week during the academic year. Summer internships will require a minimum of 20 hours per week.
- Education internships are unpaid. We are happy to help students receive credit for their internships
Interested students should send in writing to the Intern Supervisor:
- A resumé including a list of Art History courses taken.
- Full contact information including phone, e-mail, and permanent address.
- A cover letter expressing their areas of interest and career goals.
- Submissions may be mailed, faxed, or e-mailed.
Materials should be received no later than July 15 for Fall semester work, November 26 for Spring semester work and March 23 for Summer work. Students may be called for an interview.
