The Cummer Museum of Art & Gardens is committed to engage and inspire through the arts, gardens and education. A permanent collection of nearly 5,000 works of art and historic gardens on a riverfront campus offers more than 110,000 annual visitors a truly unique experience on the First Coast. Nationally recognized education programs serve adults and children of all abilities.

The Cummer is the largest fine arts museum in northeast Florida. With nearly 5,000 objects in its permanent collection, The Cummer offers world-class art spanning from 2100 B.C. through the 21st century and features special exhibits from around the world.  It is also home to the Wark Collection of Early Meissen Porcelain, recognized as the most significant collection of its type in the United States and one of the top three in the world.

The Cummer's 1.5 acres of historic gardens are unique examples of early 20th century garden design, with features such as reflecting pools, fountains, arbors, antique ornaments and sculptures. A prominent attraction in the Gardens is the 175- to 200-year-old Cummer Oak. This majestic giant has a canopy of more than 150 feet and is one of the oldest trees in Jacksonville, Florida.  The Gardens are listed in the National Register of Historic Places.

Art Connections, the Museum’s nationally recognized interactive education center, enhances the cultural learning of visitors of all ages by offering educational programs, classes, tours, concerts, as well as community outreach to underserved audiences.  It also provides hands-on art experiences for all Museum visitors through a multidisciplinary experience that combines art, music, literature, history, dance and poetry, where visitors gain a better understanding of the works in the Museum’s permanent collection.
