Photography Policy
Effective October 1, 2013

To allow for the enjoyment of all visitors to the Cummer Museum of Art & Gardens and to help us care for our property and collection, we appreciate your adherence to our Photography Policy. We are proud to provide breathtaking settings for personal and professional photography as defined below.

We welcome photography for personal and non-commercial use as follows:

Permanent Galleries

  • Non-flash photography is permitted.
  • Tripods, wheeled camera bags and other photo equipment are prohibited. 

Special Exhibition Galleries (Mason, Millner, Jacobsen & Stein Galleries)

  • All photography, tripods, wheeled camera bags and other photo equipment are prohibited. 
  • Use of mobile devices is permitted.

Gardens & Art Connections

  • Flash Photography is permitted.
  • Tripods, wheeled camera bags and other photo equipment are prohibited.
Personal Photography

Personal Photography is defined as candid, souvenir photography using a non-paid photographer.  Changes of clothing, props, and photo equipment such as flashes, tripods, monopods, camera bags and lights are prohibited.  Personal photography is permitted in the permanent collection galleries (non-flash only), Gardens and Art Connections. In special exhibition spaces (Mason, Jacobsen, Stein and Millner Galleries), only mobile devices are permitted. Personal Videography is prohibited. Professional Photography

Professional Photography is defined as any photography session using a paid photographer or any professional style shoot, including wedding, family or special event portraits. Professional photography is permitted in the Gardens only. Commercial Photography, Image Reproduction, Media Contacts

Commercial Photography is defined as photography/videography that is posted for sale on the internet, used in print for art sale, or used to advertise goods or services otherwise published. Commercial photography is prohibited.

Members of the press should contact the Museum’s marketing department at achamberlin@cummer.org.

The Cummer may photograph or videotape its events and public programs for educational, archival and publicity purposes. Unless you notify the photographer otherwise, your attendance at an event or program grants The Cummer permission to display and/or publish any photographs in which you appear. These photographs may be used in any and all of The Cummer’s publications and in any and all other media without limitation or reservation, and are not subject to compensation. These materials will become the property of The Cummer.

The Cummer reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to withhold and/or withdraw permission to photograph on its premises.
